Alicia Vikander has recalled her own miscarriage after having portrayed a character going through a similar thing.
Alicia Vikander Recalls Her Difficult Miscarriage-‘For A While I Didn’t Think That I Could Get Pregnant’
Alicia, for her part, is now happily with actor Michael Fastbender as they have a son together. While that may be the case, the struggle to get pregnant was very much something that Alicia had to go through. She expanded on how she was not sure if she wanted to be a mother.
But when she had experienced a miscarriage at the age of 30, this fueled her desire to become a mother even more. In her comments, she said: “I tried to get pregnant for a while. So I had tough times during lockdown. I struggled for a while.
“For a while I didn’t think that I could get pregnant.” So when she did become pregnant, Alicia managed to take the trials and tribulations by portraying that experience on to the screens. During the course of her role in ‘The Light Between Oceans,’ she happened to play a character that had experienced two miscarriages.
And after having gone through her own pain, she was able to use those experiences in a way to polish off her performance. Her following comments confirmed as much: “[The miscarriage] was so extreme, painful to go through and, of course, it made me recall making that film [The Light Between Oceans].”
“That film has another meaning now.” The fans on social media resonated with what Alicia had to say. And in the process of doing so, they recognised that she would have gone through very difficult experiences.
One person wrote: “Yeah sometimes being on top of the mountain isn’t all that, yes having an Oscar is nice but doesn’t omit the problems. Thanks Alicia, celebs are people too.”
