Chris Pratt has admitted that he does not want to take over the role of India Jones following some words from Harrison Ford.
Chris Pratt Was Scared Off Playing Indiana Jones By Harrison Ford
Harrison has become the golden standard for the character of Indiana after having starred in four movies. His last appearance occurred in 2008 in the film entitled ‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.’
But given that Harrison is 80-years-old, the chances of him continuing this role, at least in the current incarnation of the character, is out of the question. Not only that, but speculation began to emerge that Chris could be a name for any reboot of the franchise.
But Pratt shut down this speculation after admitting that he read a previous quote from Ford outlining the destiny of the character.
In his comments, Chris said: “All I know is I once saw a quote from Harrison Ford and I don’t even know if it was really him but it was enough to scare me, that was like, ‘When I die, Indiana Jones dies.’ And I’m like, am I gonna get haunted by the ghost of Harrison Ford one day when he dies if I play…?”
In reality, whoever takes over Harrison’s role will always be compared to the original. And unless the performance is out of the ordinary, it will most likely end up falling short.
Therefore, there would not be a lot of incentive to take on the role, especially since Chris is already a major Hollywood actor by forging a name for himself in the Jurassic Park and Guardian of the Galaxy franchises. And yet, not everybody was against the idea of seeing Pratt take on the role.
One person wrote: “India Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo!!!!!!! #indy @prattprattpratt please be in this to complete my life!” while another person stated: “If they do an India jones reboot I think Chris Pratt would be perfect.”
