Billie Eilish spoke out against the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade by hinting at her dissatisfaction towards it.

The decision has now made it possible for each state to decide whether or not abortion should be legal, as opposed to it having been allowed by the Federal Government.
While the decision has generated a lot of talking points on both sides, Billie set out her stall very clearly by letting everybody know in no uncertain terms that this was not a good sign for the United States.
During the course of her concert performance at Glastonbury Festival, Billie hinted that she did not approve of the decision without actually referencing it. In her comments, she said: “Today is a really dark day for women in the U.S.”
If those comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, there does appear to be a slight contradiction with her reasoning. Billie had recently expanded on how she would rather die than not be able to have children.
Therefore, the last thing that you would expect someone with this line of reasoning to do is bash the current decision. Secondly, Billie’s fanbase did consist of people that were pro-life. With that being said, not everyone was pleased with what the singer had to say.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A certain subset of people slammed the singer for her views, meanwhile others felt she should not be meddling in political affairs, especially when she was performing.
One person wrote: “It’s not a good idea to look to a 20-year-old with a high school education for insights on women’s issues.” This ruling is bound to continue dividing the United States, and that is not going to change any time soon irrespective of what Billie has had to say. So there you have it folks.
