Courtney Love is no stranger to controversy. Since 1994, when her husband, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, took his own life at the age of 27, she has been in the spotlight in some form or another. Usually due to her battle with addiction.
She recently came out in support of Johnny Depp, who is currently battling it out in a defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, saying, “I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly. I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside the Viper Room.” she went onto say that throughout the years, Johnny Depp has really been an instrumental figure in her young daughter, Frances Bean’s life.
Courtney Love comes out in support of Johnny Depp
She said that when she was at the height of her addiction and Bean was having to deal with tons of social workers at her school, Depp sent limosines for the young girl without Love ever asking for such treatment. She said, “Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with all these social workers, wrote her a four page letter that she’s never showed me.” being from a home embattled with addiction himself, it’s easy to see where Johnny would write this kind of letter to Courtney’s young daughter.
Love went onto say that she had never seen any of the Pirates of the Carribean movies, but that her daughter loved them, and that Depp made sure that she had a seat at all the premieres with her name on them. Bean once told Love, “Mama, he saved my life.”
While Courtney is definitely on Depp’s side, she did say in her video that she had “empathy” for Amber Heard and went onto say that, “I’ve been the most hated woman in America. The most hated woman in the world before TikTok and it’s a really… I have a lot of empathy for what that must feel like for Amber. F**k man, wow, can you imagine being her???” which does raise an incredible point, like it or not. Still, it’s clear to see whose side Courtney is on. Stay tuned!!!
