Donald Trump is suing the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton and other key proponents of the Russiagate controversy, claiming they created a false narrative and tying his 2016 campaign to Russia. The former president is seeking $72 million in damages and claiming the DNC and Clinton orchestrated the plot to vilify him. The complaint says,
“They worked together with a single, self-serving purpose: to vilify Donald J. Trump. Indeed, their far-reaching conspiracy was designed to cripple Trump’s bid for the presidency by fabricating a scandal that would be used to trigger an unfounded federal investigation and ignite a media frenzy.”
Donald Trump Is Suing Hillary Clinton And DNC For $72 Million Over Russian Collusion False Narrative
Jake Sullivan who is Joe Biden‘s national security advisor, and former FBI Director James Comey are among the 28 individuals and corporations named as defendants in the 108-page lawsuit. Along with the Russiagate story, it alleges racketeering, conspiracy to commit ‘injurious falsehood’, and obstruction of justice among several over crimes.
The lawsuit calls out several complaints that Trump would cite throughout his presidency and he also claims that he has lost no less than $24 million in damages in past and present business due to the actions of these people.
If this lawsuit goes through, it could be one of the biggest controversies in recent memory and could shine a new light on the former president. Whether or not it affected his 2020 campaign is uncertain, but the Russiagate narrative definitely drove a divide between the American people, and if true would be incredibly malicious and show the deception of politicians.
From the looks of it, Trump may have a good chance at winning, as they spent 4 years investigating this and found nothing. Was this all one big lie to try to get their political enemy out of office?
