Canada has been seeing its share of problems of late, but Justin Trudeau called the protestors of the Freedom Convoy racists and Nazis, then alleging a Jewish member of the Conservative Party sides with those wearing Swastikas was a bit much for many to take.
While there’s no denying there are those elements involved in the protest, blatantly labeling every member of the protest as such borders on irresponsible and looking to play to the public to continue back the policies in place.
Dr. Eli David Shares Open Letter Penned By Leading Israeli Physicians With Canadian PM Justin Trudeau
As such, Dr. Eli David shared an open letter signed by 23 Jewish physicians and scientists to Justin Trudeau. He included a list of the signer’s accomplishments in a reply to his post.

Adopting A Smear Campaign
Dr. David shared an excerpt from the letter in his post:
“You adopted a smear campaign portraying protesters as ‘Nazi sympathizers’, ‘racist’ and ‘antisemitic’. Freedom Convoy is a legitimate civil protest which aims at restoring fundamental liberties.”
From the start, there has been no reported dialogue between the protestors and the Prime Minister. In fact, it was widely reported that Trudeau “hid out” and reportedly tested positive for Covid in the beginning of the Freedom Convoy movement.
Even now with multiple areas removing their mandates, he has refused to speak to them. He’s been openly challenged and chastised in Parliament daily, and his decision to lash out instead of opening a dialogue and hearing the protestors’ concerns has placed him in the center of worldwide attention for all the wrong reasons.
The Freedom Convoy has sparked several similar convoys in other countries as a result, so his next action was the Emergency Act, which allows the Canadian government to freeze the protestors’ bank accounts, arrest them, and so on.
A call for justice
The events unfolding remind many of the Tiananmen Square massacre in China in 1989, but without the tanks and bloodshed. But with snipers on the roofs and the media being told to stand back or be arrested, things could be reaching a tipping point.
It all goes back to Trudeau’s decision to attack and paint the protestors as racists to gain support for his actions, and the final sentence of the letter is a perfect point that needs to be made.
“The important fight should not be weaponized and directed at a legitimate civil protest which aims at restoring fundamentals liberties, to what used to be, until not long ago, one of the freest countries in the world.”
The coming days will be telling in Canada, and the world is watching.
