It’s been a minute since some A-list celebrity has starred in a Superbowl commercial, but this time it looks like Zendaya has decided to come on down and mingle with us common consumers and lend her selling power to a Squarespace ad.

In the ad, she stars as “Sally” who “sold seashells by the seashore” and used Squarespace to successfully launch that biz. You would think that this would be a hollow advertisement, after all, Zendaya couldn’t possibly use it for her own stuff, right?

But no, she says that she uses Squarespace regularly and has a familiarity with the brand, so there’s plenty of truth in advertising, something that you sometimes don’t get with celebrity ad spots. Also, apparently, they came to her and pitched the idea for the Superbowl ad and she absolutely loved it. The ad is a first for Zendaya, who will be pulling double duty Sunday night not only in her Superbowl ad but also in her show on HBO, Euphoria.

The Superbowl ad has her looking so sprightly and fresh and is a sharp contrast to Rue, the drug-addicted teenager she plays on Euphoria, which has a decidedly grittier feel to it. (Then again, it’s an ad spot and they’re selling things… it’s gonna have a positive spin.)

Of the ad, she said that she was incredibly excited to have the opportunity to create with Edgar Wright, a filmmaker known for his fast-paced, kinetic, and satirical films, and Andre 3000, who was a member of the group Outkast along with fellow rapper Big Boi. She says that she had a very good time on the set. She said the location was beautiful and soothing and the place was just filled with very creative energy.

We stan a positive experience, and it looks like lately Zendaya is just lapping them up, from ad spots to her own show on HBO, and probably more upcoming film roles that no one can talk about yet, she seems to be in a really good place in life right now. More power to Queen Z. Stay tuned!!!
