Paola Miranda-Rosa went missing on Dec. 17th, 2021, that was the last time any of her family heard from her. On Dec. 22nd, her Chevrolet HHR was found abandoned in the park but there was no sign of Miranda-Rosa herself.
However on Dec. 20th, the police received a video from some campers in the Wekiva Falls National Park, who had taken some video of a woman wading into the Wekiva River on Dec. 18th, the waters were alligator infested.
Police Release Video Of Missing Woman Wading Through Alligator Infested Waters
While authorities are saying that it is rare for an alligator to actually attack a human, it’s not uncommon. In fact, in 2015 woman who was wading into the Wekiva River lost part of her arm to one of the beasts, and it’s alarming that no one has heard from Miranda-Rosa since her last sighted footage.
Currently, authorities are hoping that someone in another part of the park has spotted her, or perhaps has more footage, and will turn it over to them so that they can locate the woman. Her family is understandably worried sick, and they have every reason to be.
Paola Miranda-Rosa is a very vulnerable individual, she has schizophrenia and bipolar and has threatened self-harm before. No one can tell just from looking at the footage whether this was just misguided judgment on her part or a true mental health crisis in progress, but authorities are hoping for Paola Miranda-Rosa to be found.
Sheriff Marcos Lopez is saying that currently there is nothing to prove that she didn’t make it out of the water and walk somewhere else to safety. The Miranda-Lopez family currently has a GoFundMe open to raising money to hire a private investigator to find out what truly happened to their family member.
On Thursday, the sheriff’s department scanned a four and a half-mile stretch of waterway in the park and used a drone, bloodhounds, and people on foot.
They canvassed both sides and are comfortable enough to say that Miranda-Rosa is not in the river, nor is she in that part of the woods in the park. So they suspect that she may have made it out of the water and may currently be somewhere else. Paola Miranda Rosa is described as a Hispanic woman that is 4’10, 145lbs, with red hair and brown eyes.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing denim shorts and a green and white shirt. If anyone has seen Paola Miranda-Rosa please call 407-348-2222 and contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s department. We will keep you updated on this case. Stay tuned!!!
