Sinead O’Connor’s Teenage Son Dead by Suicide – O’Connor Blames Hospital
According to a string of angry tweets by the Nothing Compares 2U songstress, 17-year-old Shane was on suicide watch in an Irish hospital. However, the teenager was somehow allowed to leave the hospital and two days later was found dead.

Several more tweets from O’Connor claim the state run hospital seems to be dodging any culpability and are lawyering up fast. After a statement was made by the hospital, O’Connor claimed it was “dishonest” in one tweet and “a load of crap” in another.
Her anger is very apparent in tweets like this:

Amid her anger, O’Connor did take time to honor her late son:

Police had been looking for Shane since Thursday, and his famous mother, who once tore up a picture of the Pope on Saturday Night Live had been trying to reach out to him on Twitter, begging him not do anything to harm himself and reminding him her world would fall apart without him.
Unfortunately, it was either too late or too little and Shane’s body was officially identified by police and later his mother on Saturday, January 8
Shane’s father is Irish folk musician Donal Lunny, who is separated from the 55-year-old singer. Shane is also survived by three half-siblings, Roisin Waters, Jake Reynolds, Yeshua Bonadio.
We are so sorry for the entire family’s loss. Rest in Peace, Shane.
