Freedom sure tastes better than a chocolate chip cookie, now does it? A source close to Britney Spears says that the multi-talented songstress is excited to finally make decisions for herself now that she’s no longer under her father Jamie Spears’ rule in her conservatorship. Here’s what you need to know.
Britney was freed from her 13-year conservatorship back in November. She said at the time that she wanted to see both of her parents – which also includes her mother Lynne Spears – in jail for their participation in her conservatorship in which she had no control of her own life, both personally and professionally speaking.
Britney Spears Is Excited To Finally Make Decisions For Herself
According to ET Online, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Gabriel Chiu made a house call to Britney’s house, where she had two treatments, InMode’s Forma and EmSculpt. “She seemed very excited to be able to make decisions for herself like this one, and work with Dr. Chiu to feel like her best self,” the source says.
In her court heating, Judge Brenda Penny ruled that Britney finally has the freedom to handle her own finances and conduct her own business without her father or any of her handlers for that matter.
“The court further finds and orders that Britney Jean Spears has the ability to execute documents transacting business on her own behalf and that any previous order entered by this court regarding restricting her ability to sign estate plan documents revoked,” the judge stated.
For Britney, she’s been incredibly grateful to have her bank cards back and has enjoyed simple things such as driving on her own again.
“I’ve been in a conservatorship for 13 years. It’s a really long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in,” Spears said in an Instagram video. “I’m just grateful, honestly, for each day. Being able to have the keys to my car, and being able to be independent, and feel like a woman. Owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. It’s the little things for us women, but it makes a huge difference. I’m grateful for that. It’s nice. It’s really nice.”
