Taylor Swift has defended her decision to hold a party amid the pandemic.

The singer, for her part, was celebrating her 32nd birthday. Had it not been for the pandemic, she could have been forgiven for having the event, especially given the success that she has had to date.

The recent re-release of her album entitled ‘Red’ has led to more success, given that her song ‘All Too Well’ managed to hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In a post to her fans on Twitter, Taylor shared a series of photos from the party which showed just how much of a good time she was having.

The post was captioned by the following comments: “Don’t say it, don’t say it OKAY I’m saying it:* I’M FEELIN 32. And Alana is feeling 30…Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, I love you all so much.”

Naturally, a certain subset of people did not approve of the star’s conduct. They felt that such a decision was not wise, given the rising number of Covid cases.

Not only that, even if Taylor was still confident of going ahead with the party, people felt that she should have kept these celebrations private. After all, her actions may end up encouraging others.

This is particularly true, given that the singer had previously warned against the dangers of gathering with people. In a prior post on social media, she remarked: “I’m seeing lots of get-togethers and hangs and parties still happening.

“This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can…we need to make sacrifices right now.”

Nevertheless, she reassured fans that Covid safety protocols were followed, so as to make sure that everybody was in a safe environment.

She stated: “Don’t worry we tested everyone.” It is clear that Taylor had a good time letting her hair down. Having said that, though, in light of the current circumstances, it is probably wise that she keeps these things to herself.

After all, it is not a good look to be telling others they should avoid gatherings, while not doing the same. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
