Public enemy star Flavor Flav’s recent domestic violence charge has now been dropped by the authorities.

According to reports at the time, Flavor Flav was alleged to have hit the victim by poking his finger into their eyes. Subsequently, it was claimed that the star had grabbed and thrown the victim to the ground, as well as snatch a mobile phone from her hand.
Soon after, an investigation was conducted, which has now come to an end. As a result, Flavor has apparently agreed to accept liability for a lesser charge which has resulted in the authorities dropping the charges of battery.
Therefore, he will not have to do any jail time, but that does not mean that he is fully in the clear. For his troubles, he has been ordered to pay a fine worth $640.
His attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld told TMZ the following: “Today, the domestic violence charge against Mr William Drayton (Flavor Flav) was dismissed.
“Mr Drayton acknowledged the nonviolent act of grabbing a phone during the incident in question, a misdemeanour, and the case was closed by the court.”
For all the criticism directed towards the musician, it is important to bear in mind that Flavor Flav has been open about his drinking problem.
It is not clear whether a potential relapse led to this incident, but what it does show is that he does have some demons that he needs to overcome by getting some help.
And if this incident has taught him anything, it is that he needs to get his life back on track and back to the days where he was so successful in his time with Public Enemy by speaking on social justice issues. And by the looks of it, this journey has started.
His attorneys added: “Mr Drayton and his family are grateful to bring an amicable close to this matter and appreciate everyone’s support as he continues his one-year journey of sobriety.”
