Joe Rogan reposted a video on Instagram sharing information about how Instagram may or may not be limiting your reach with a new filter. The new filter blocks out anything ‘objectionable’ and you will have to manually go into your settings, and change the filter to allow it.

Instagram account Boxcutterpazzy shared the video after learning about the filter and many have found the information useful as they didn’t even realize it was there. You can view the clip below that was uploaded with the following caption,

“Heads up for everyone about the settings on your Instagram.
Repost: @boxcutterpazzy strange stuff. check this out (and share) c/o @djpain1“

Viewers commented on the post, “Who has the “allow” button? I have it but I’m seeing many people that don’t. Not sure why!”, “I’ve found that Instagram heavily restricts the reach of any post I make that contains a link to an external website (merch, YouTube video etc).

But it does makes sense as Facebook has done the exact same thing for years to try and keep people on their platform and no one else’s. I miss the days when it wasn’t like this!”, “I don’t have that option tho, just limited which they recommend and very limited. Awesome” and “Na they removed the “allow” option.”

As of now, it looks like Instagram has removed the ‘allow’ option, and are only left with ‘limited’ and ‘very limited’. Some have been able to find it, but most haven’t. I’ve checked it on my accounts and found the same things. Be sure to check your settings if you don’t want to be restricted on the content you are able to see.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Joe Rogan and will this cause you to use Instagram less? Let us know in the comments below.
