Joe Rogan had Jocko Willink on his podcast again and one of the conversations that got brought up was of course the verdict of Kyle Rittenhouse. The trial made national news and the verdict, like it or not, was not guilty. Willink is a retired United States Navy officer who served in the Navy SEALs and is a former member of SEAL Team 3 and is fond of Rogan’s optimism.

Rogan spoke about the facts surrounding the case and how virtually every part of it was lied about on media outlets. Joe recounted the things that the media got wrong,

“The story that most people are just spouting out, the headline version without reading the actual meat of the story itself is not accurate at all. This kid’s not a white supremacist by any stretch of the imagination. He was kind of playing cop, kind of playing EMT and he was f–king 17.  And he did apparently provide aid and help a bunch of people and at multiple occasions was chased and pulled the rifle out and when they retreated he didn’t shoot.”

Basically of what Joe says right there was completely disregarded by the media and they went with the narrative that he was a white supremacist out looking to kill people.

Joe continued to explain the incident, “it was only when he was attacked, he was hit with a skateboard, someone pulled a gun on him, that’s when he shot people. I mean it was all very reasonable. Maybe not reasonable that a 17-year-old shows up with a f–king gun to riots.” Rogan then called out the media saying, “But their version of it that they were selling to the media and the f–king president said it that he’s a white supremacist. Jen Psaki recently said that the president does not condone vigilantism. That kid was in no way shape or form a vigilante… So maybe enough of the actual story got out where it doesn’t seem like a thing to riot for.”

Across the table from Joe, say Willink quietly and he compared the news cycle and people repeating it as everyone watching a different movie. There’s so much being said and going out that it’s hard to find out what’s true and what’s not. However, the trial was televised and is available to watch.

While Joe has his opinions, he tends to be fairly reasonable most times. With this case and the evidence that was provided, it seemed to have been the right verdict. Interestingly enough, as the correct information becomes more available, people are starting to turn their heads away from Kyle and leave it alone.

What do you think? Do you think the wave of correct information coming out is either allowing people to agree the verdict was right? Let us know in the comments below.
