Reports confirm that a brawl had taken place during the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders game in which women had allegedly decided to punch each other.
Brawl Breaks Out At Cowboys-Raiders Game As Women Exchange Punches
The incident went viral and raised questions about the safety of supporters at games. In the video here, we can see that the women are in line in order to obtain some food for the game.
Then out of nowhere, a brawl broke out between the women and staff who had to get involved. According to the footage, a female worker who was giving refreshments decided to jump over the counter as she was ready to engage in combat.
But given that the floor had nachos over it, she ended up slipping and falling on them. This allowed another woman to punch her in the face, after which the other workers broke up the fight.
It is not clear why the altercation had taken place, but the hysteria in the background from the observers did not help the matter. Many people began to get worried over the fact that things were getting out of hand very quickly, without any security intervening.
Naturally, the authorities had to get involved. A source told TMZ the following: “There was a lot of this sorta thing happening during the game.
“They made several arrests for intoxication, but it’s unclear if either of these women were taken into custody.” Given that the people involved were apparently drunk, a certain subset of fans questioned whether alcohol should be allowed at sports venues.
Clearly, it can lead to trouble breaking out when people cannot control their intake. But at the same time, there is a feeling that this would take away from the atmosphere generated at sports venues that people often generate when they are drinking and having a good time.
Regardless of which side of the fence you stand on, it is clear that something needs to be done to ensure the safety of supporters. And if there is anything good that can come out of this incident, then it is perhaps the realisation that measures need to be put in place to protect sports fans.
