A Fox News White House correspondent pressed White House press secretary Jen Psaki on the President suggesting that Kyle Rittenhouse was a white supremacist. Biden tweeted a video during his 2020 campaign that called Donald Trump out for not ‘disavowing white supremacy’. However, the video they showed painted Rittenhouse as the ‘white supremacy’ he wasn’t disavowing.
When asked if Biden would apologize, Psaki stumbled around the question without actually answering yes or no. Though, I think we can be comfortable with the answer being no.
“Let’s be clear what we’re talking about here, this is about campaign video released last year that used President Trump’s own words during a debate as he refused to condemn white supremacists and militia groups.“

The correspondent kept pushing the question, “These were all things — none of this was proven in the trial. Kyle Rittenhouse is saying that the president had actual malice in defaming his character. Is that what happened here?”
Psaki said that Biden had spoken to the verdict last week and will leave it to his comments around the verdict. However, that still doesn’t actually answer the question. The big reason this matters is whether or not Rittenhouse has grounds to sue for defamation.
Several media outlets and journalists referred to Rittenhouse as a white supremacist, but in the trial, none of that was ever proven, and the men that he shot were all white. If Joe Biden indeed did refer to Rittenhouse as a white supremacist, it will definitely most likely be an issue. However, giving him the benefit of the doubt, it was an editing thing, and Kyle’s image just happen to pop up while Biden said that, it could be a mistake.
While I think Kyle may sue some journalists for defamation, I’m not sure Biden will outright apologize to Kyle, whether intentional or not.
