NFL player and Minnesota Vikings Dalvin Cook is being sued by his ex-girlfriend on the grounds of domestic violence.
Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook Faces Domestic Violence Lawsuit For Assault, Battery and False Imprisonment
Dalvin, for his part, currently plies his trade with the Minnesota Vikings. This accusation, though, is bound to put a dent in his career. A woman by the name of Gracelyn Trimble claimed that she was a victim of violent behaviour.
The pair had apparently been in each other’s company for around three years since 2018. In her following lawsuit, she claimed that she had been ‘a victim of assault, battery and false imprisonment.’
The lawsuit stated: “[She had] a concussion, leaving a scar on my face and taking me through hell.” In response, Dalvin denied doing anything of the sort.
He maintained his innocence throughout this whole process and is hoping that the justice system will prevail. But much more than just being cleared, there is an implication that Dalvin may be the victim in all of this.
Well, that is according to his attorney David Valentini. The former alleged that his client was assaulted after Grace had broken into his premises, after which she demanded millions from him.
That is why Dalvin has backed himself to be cleared. In an official statement, he remarked: “I just want everybody to know I’m the victim in this situation and the truth and the details about the situation will come out.”
If Dalvin is found guilty, then it could have severe repercussions for the following reasons. First of all, he could be doing some time behind bars or some supervised rehabilitation.
Secondly, he might have to pay compensation to Grace. Lastly, this may also impact his NFL career with a suspension or a hefty fine. Mike Zimmer, who happens to be the coach of the Minnesota Vikings, remained coy on the situation.
In response to the allegations, he stated: “Honestly, I don’t know that much about the situation. What I was told is the NFL said this is a civil matter.”
Time will tell whether there will be any repercussions for Dalvin. In the meantime, the only thing we can do is wait for the authorities to get to the bottom of this.
