American actor Emilio Estevez has reassured his fans that he is not an anti-vaxxer following speculation that he departed from the show ‘Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ due to vaccination rules.

The rumours first emerged, given that Emilio’s departure was not expected. After all, he had been on the show for the first season. In addition, he is synonymous with the story, given that he was in the original film.
And yet, it looks as though his decision to leave was motivated more by creative differences as opposed to his alleged anti-vaxx views. In an official statement, he said: “I am not anti-vaxx. Full stop.
“I take this pandemic very seriously, and I am often teased about my continued following of the safety protocols and my abundance of caution.”
This begs the question, where did this rumour first appear? Well, according to a story published by Deadline, it was hinted that Emilio did not categorically state whether he was going to comply with Disney’s mandatory vaccination requirements for its cast.
However, Emilio sought to dispel those rumours. He added: “[I want] to address what transpired and clear up some falsehoods which appeared.
“[It] was nothing more than a good old fashioned contract dispute and not, as some would believe, an anti-vaccine position.” Nevertheless, this story is not going to die down anytime soon for the following reasons.
First of all, it is not clear whether Emilio has been vaccinated. Therefore, in an attempt to stop these rumours from spreading, he could have easily come out and stated that he had been.
Secondly, given that he is one of the central characters of the show, it is hard to believe that Disney could not have kept him on by coming to a compromise.
The response on social media was much the same. His fans could not understand why Emilio decided to walk away. In a post on Twitter, one fan wrote: “The hill that he’s willing to die on, apparently.
“What is he even doing with his career anymore, other than this? This is his last shot to be relevant, and he’s literally blowing it. Sad.”
