Many people seem to think that anyone with the last name ‘Duggar’ is affiliated with the clan and needs to be raked over the coals, as illustrated by “wild cousin Amy” AKA Amy Duggar King on her social media when she was doing her impersonation of one of her haters. “Scrolling through your stories I see you had chick fil-a again, what you can’t afford anything else?
Why are you dipping in that polynesian sauce? I knew I didn’t like you, I knew it! And what, you’re just trying to cut your bangs to stay irrevelant? People are just going to start paying attention to you? Well guess what they’re not! And what, you only had one child, why would anyone care about your child unless you had 17 more? You post about then all the time!
‘Counting On’: Amy Duggar King fires back at the haters!
And you’re a business owner? Why would anybody want to support you at ALL! You’re just a Duggar cousin riding the Duggar family’s coat tails!”
‘Counting On’: OUCH!
Apparently this is a taste of the online hate that Amy Duggar King has been receiving in the wake of all the Duggar backlash. The thing is about Amy though, is that she is the one family member who isn’t actually in the IBLP cult. Unlike her more conservative cousins, Amy doesn’t hold their position that women shouldn’t hold jobs outside the home.
She regularly shouts out small business owners on her instagram page and spouts affirmations that a girl is worth more than her appearance which is as far from fundieland as one can get. (Aside from being extremely submissive, Christian Fundamentalist women are often encouraged to maintain a certain level of physical perfection for their husbands. Here’s looking at you, Remnant Fellowship. Ahem.)
So why all the hate? Because her cousin did something completely out of her control? She was not at the car lot when Josh was doing his dirty dealings and from what we can tell, she would not have approved of whatever he was doing because she has a child. In fact recently she speculated about something maybe happened to Josh that changed him but indeed that is just speculation, there is no truth in that.
The thing about the Duggar family is that not everyone is connected to the Duggars themselves or the IBLP. Amy supports female business owners, stands against domestic violence, and encourages women to find their voice, so not all Duggars are cut from the same cloth.
In fact a lot of Amy’s post is indirectly directed at her younger female cousins in order to let them know that the way of life that they’ve been taught isn’t the only way and if they don’t meet the standards of perfection that the IBLP holds them to that it’s okay. So let’s keep that in mind whenever Amy posts on social media, because some of the people that she is trying to reach at the moment do not have the option of doing so. Stay tuned!!!
