Alec’s brother, Stephen Baldwin, also posted a statement that said, “Asking for prayers tonight friends not much can be said other than please pray for all involved in the tragic in the wake of this tragic accident thank you.” He captioned the post, “Psalm91.”
Local authorities say no charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains active. However, The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) said in a statement to union members that the prop gun had a live round in it.
According to Variety, the says, “A live single round was accidentally fired on set by the principal actor, hitting both the Director of Photography, Local 600 member Halyna Hutchins, and Director Joel Souza,” the union told members. “Both were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, we lost Sister Hutchins who passed from the wound.”
Meanwhile, Baldwin took to his Twitter account to write, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.”
