Ever since her netflix film “He’s All That” came out, Tiktokker Addison Rae has received so much hate. In spite of the film being written by the same screenwriter as “She’s All That” from the 90’s, the film has pretty much been panned across the board.

Okay well, some concepts just don’t translate well across decades and we get it. Still, lately Addison has been getting an inordinate amount of hate on her tiktok page. In one post in this hot pink versace outfit that everyone else is wearing (Ariana Grande included, but hers was in yellow), the comments got so bad that Addison had to turn off comments!

Why does everyone hate Addison Rae?

It’s a pretty big deal when a tiktokker has to turn off comments because it’s a platform where creators regularly interact with their followers and it’s seen as very accessible, even moreso than youtube because unlike youtube there isn’t the production value involved, a lot of it is just people recording things on their phones and therefor it makes the creators seem a bit more relatable than some of their youtube counterparts who employ actual film lighting and production techniques in their videos, for tiktokkers its as easy as having a camera on your phone. So when Addison Rae turns off comments, you know its bad.

A couple of weeks ago she even cancelled her Iheartradio event, she didn’t come out and say that it was because of the backlash she had received since she recieved a multi-picture Netflix deal, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this was clearly her management protecting her from an event that could be potentially traumatizing… and dangerous, for her.

It seems that no one really wants to see Addison beyond being a ‘tiktok girl’. Is her content for everyone? No, it’s got a definite demographic, but she really doesn’t deserve the level of hate that she’s getting. She hasn’t really done anything besides do well for herself and wear a questionable outfit (gotta agree with the commenters here, I wasn’t feeling it either, but that’s no reason to be mean), besides… she’s a 20 year old girl.We all need to learn our lesson from Britney before her, and let her live! Stay tuned!!!
