Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were seen together in Malibu on Thursday for what looked to be a chilled out lunch date. But the most interesting part of the date was that none of their four kids were in attendance.
Kim has been showing support for her children’s father, showing up with family in tow as West previewed his latest work-in-progress, Donda, but Thursday was the first time the pair have been seen together, flying solo…if you don’t count their hefty security teams.
Exes Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Reunite For Low Key Lunch Date
Everything looked very amicable between the pair, which was Kardashian’s wish when she filed for divorce some six months ago, citing irreconcilable differences between the two. The not-terribly-surprising split following a tumultuous year of West suffering from bipolar episodes and taking a controversial run at U.S. President.
The two have been giving shout outs to each other of late. Kardashian shared the love of her ex-husband recently, crediting West for teaching her how to be true to herself and not care what everyone thinks. West certainly has that part down pat.
West’s shout out was a little more heart wrenching. At his Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium listening party, he debuted a song called Love Unconditionally in which he sang: ‘I’m losing my family’ amid his divorce from Kim. The lyrics continue with West begging his ex to ‘come back to me’ and includes audio of his mother and album’s namesake, Donda recalling that her father taught her to ‘love unconditionally’ and to ‘never abandon your family.’
Seemingly finally moved out of the stadium, and removing his full face mask, West and Kardashian drove to the Malibu hotspot together, West behind the wheel.
As the division of their multi-billion dollar estate continues, it’s nice to see the exes can remain on friendly terms, especially from the standpoint of their four kids- eight-year-old daughter North, son Saint, five, daughter Chicago, three, and son Psalm, two.
