‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has decided to live “happily ever after” in Milan with Summer Newman (Hunter King). Well, their “happily ever after” isn’t sitting right with me. Hear me out…

I understand the contract negotiations with Mealor and King and how they won’t be returning to the show. I get it. However,  I think the writers did a sloppy job writing them out and left too many loose ends.

In the very beginning, when all of this started, Kyle thought he had gotten off scott-free with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and he wasn’t even going to be a part of Harrison Locke’s life. I was not okay with that and was thrilled when he finally decided to accept responsibility.

However, now that Kyle has run off to Italy to be with his beloved Summer, he forgot one thing. HIS SON. Now, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is left to deal with the custody of Harrison alongside with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi). Sure, they say that Kyle will talk about “visitation” times for Harrison, but that doesn’t do it for me. As a father, he needs to fight for his child and at least stay in Genoa City until he gets custody. It shouldn’t be terrible as he is the biological father (so far as we know).

I just do not like how the storyline seemingly ended and all we’ll get now is some half-flunked excuse by Jack about how Kyle “wishes he could here” or something instead of being with his son. Just feels wrong to me.

What do you think? What should Kyle have done and do you feel like he kind of abandoned Harrison? Let us know in the comments below.
