Hayes Grier, who is best known for being an influencer/Youtuber, has been arrested according to reports.
‘Dancing With The Stars’: Hayes Grier Has Been Arrested For Assault And Robbery
The former star of Dancing with the Stars was apprehended in California before being taken to Mecklenburg County jail. According to TMZ, Hayes was detained on three charges which were robbery, felony and assault. The victim has reportedly accused Hayes of stealing a cell phone and $1,200, as well as being subjected to extensive injuries.
On further inspection, the victim ended up with brain damage, hearing loss and damaged ribs. In response, Hayes was reportedly released after meeting the $17,500 bail requirements. And yet, that is not the end of the story. The case is set to go to a judge, with the outcome looking very bleak for Hayes.
If he is convicted, he could face some time behind bars. Naturally, the consequences of this could be huge for Haye’s career. The social media star has a huge following and brand that spans across the world. According to the figures, he amasses over 5 million followers on Instagram.
At the same time, his Youtube channel is approaching the million mark with over 800,000 subscribers. In addition, Hayes made history by becoming one of the youngest contestants ever on Dancing with the Stars when he partnered with Emma Slater in 2015.
There is no doubt that he will face some backlash. We only have to look at some other Youtubers that have been involved in controversy. Take, for example, David Dobrik. The latter was criticised after he was accused of filming his former vlog member raping someone. This forced David to issue a public apology.
Although his career has managed to continue in the meantime, several huge brands did end their working relationship with David. According to Business Insider, “HBO Max, Hello Fresh, General Mills, EA Sports, DoorDash, Dollar Shave Club and Audible have all cut ties with David.”
It is not hard to imagine that the same could happen to Haye’s depending on the ruling from the judge. Time will tell how this all plays out, but on current inspection, Haye’s career could be about to take a massive tumble.
