Nicki Minaj has sent shockwaves around the internet after seemingly confirming that she is set to host the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion.

The musician, who is known for her rap skills, is actually a very huge fan of the show. While there are no plans for Nicki to actually replace current host Andy Cohen, it seems she might get her shot at doing it on a one-off occasion. In what started out as an innocent rumour, Nicki started to get the attention of people when she made the following Instagram post.
In the post, she shared a trailer for the reunion. The post was captioned by the following comments: “I’ll be hosting the reunion. lmk what y’all want me to ask Chile.” This got a lot of support from the cast of the show. Gizelle Bryant responded with: “Yesssssss,” while Andy Cohen wrote: “I want to see this!”
Naturally, with so much demand for Nicki to host the show, she began to make some moves behind the scenes. Nicki went on to share a series of screenshots detailing a conversation between herself and her publicist. And the contents of the chat confirmed that Nicki would host the show.
The messages stated: “Andy Cohen said he would gladly give up his seat to have you host the Potomac reunion. Tapes around October. Would really be a funny f–king moment. I like this idea. OK, getting details.” So what could we expect to see from Nicki?
Well, given by her personality, she will be even franker than Andy himself. With the producers wanting to rebrand the housewives franchise, this could be the perfect way to bring in a bigger audience. It would follow much in the same way as the Bachelor franchise, which used alternate celebrities on Bachelor in Paradise following the sudden departure of Chris Harrison.
It is undoubtedly a brave move. But whether it pays off, in the end, is anyone’s guess. Regardless of whatever happens, it is safe to say that the fans will be dying to tune in. We will have to see how this will all play out.
