Netflix’s ‘Army of the Dead’ has been exploding over the last few days. The Zack Snyder film stars Dave Bautista as a mercenary sent into a zombie-ridden Las Vegas to pull off the biggest heist of all time. However, one of the biggest pieces of news to come out is stand-up comedian Tig Notaro’s role in the film.

Notaro was edited into the film after everything had already been completed. Had I not been told about this, I probably never would have known. The editing is nearly flawless and Notaro’s performance is fantastic.

For her role, she filmed everything on a green screen and never actually got to meet the rest of the cast, including star Dave Bautista. She explained how the shoot went and how much fun she had in an interview with Stephen Colbert.

“Tig Notaro stars in the new movie “Army Of The Dead” on Netflix but she never met her co-stars because she had to film all of it on a green screen by herself.”

People who watched the film were shocked to hear this news and wondered why Notaro wasn’t the first choice as she was seemingly perfect in the role. Viewers wrote, “Why wasn’t she the first choice to begin with? She was great in this.”, “Tig was a perfect fit for this role. Never thought of her as a badass pilot, but it works. I feel sorry that the cast missed out on the chance to work with her in person.”, “Here’s the thing, this could have been so bad if it wasn’t perfect and the fact that I had 0 idea she was never on set is honestly a technical feat. She honestly was my favorite character!” and “I am convinced that Tig Notaro could replace anyone on short notice and make the result better!”

What do you think? Have you watched ‘Army of the Dead’ yet and what did you think of Tig Notaro in the role? Let us know in the comments below.
