Issa Rae has hit back at a troll after she was accused of not being attractive enough.

The actress, who is known for her community projects, had to take on a different challenge this time around. During the course of a Twitter post, the user made a bizarre rant at the actress’ appearance. And things were much worse, as the troll implied that he would not want to be anywhere near her. The comment in question stated: “Issa Rae is not an attractive woman.
“She will never know who I am, and even if she did, it doesn’t matter because I don’t want to f–k her or be hired by her.” Naturally, this caused a huge uproar on social media. Fans started to rally around the post. Unlike the typical responses that may have focused on blasting the troll, fans instead chose to express their support for Issa.
One user remarked: “Issa Rae is fine,” while another said: “Me, praying tonight to wake up tomorrow and be as ‘unattractive’ as Issa Rae.” Nevertheless, some fans saw this as part of the wider problem of mass discrimination that has plagued the acting industry. There have always been concerns over the treatment of actors.
While Isaac has managed to break the mould by being a success, notably when she appeared on Saturday Night Live as a testament to that fact, there is the fear that her acting credentials are not getting enough praise. Her performance in ‘Insecure’ has been lauded. Fans alike sought to express this sentiment.
One fan said: “We have to stop commenting on appearance…and appreciate what people contribute to society,” while another revealed: “Issa Rae’s attractiveness always being up for discussion is colourism at its finest.” Issa could be forgiven for taking it to heart, but she chose to take a more nonchalant approach to the social media abuse.
In response, she merely distanced herself from the troll. She revealed: “Not my cousins publicly disrespecting me.” Issa has her fans by her side, and she is not going to let this incident distract her from the moves she is making in her career.
