Jana Kramer stayed with Mike Caussin, despite his continual acts of cheating, simply because she wanted to keep her family unit together.

But now that is over, as Jana decided to file for divorce. The duo, though, shared two kids together. Although there are no signs that the terms of the co-parenting will become an issue, the very prospect of it has been very hard for Jana to accept. In an appearance on her Whine Down podcast, she regretted the fact that her family will be breaking up.
She said: “I didn’t want to break up my family. My whole thing was, like, I didn’t want this for the kids.” But it seems the kids often clouded Jana away from some difficult home truths. Mike clearly did not value her at all. We only have to look at some of the things that he did. On two occasions of his infidelity, one occurred just prior to them getting married.
If that sounded bad enough, the other had reportedly happened during the pregnancy and aftermath of their first child. However, Jana continued to be in denial. She added: “I stayed for my kids even when other things happened. [My therapist said Mike’s] taking [your] light away [and I would simply say] But my kids! We’ll be together.”
With co-parenting being something that can no longer be avoided, Jana has reached out to some friends. One of those has been Kristin Cavallari. The latter is all too aware of being a single mother, after she had experienced a sad break-up with Jay Cutler. And as they both reside in Nashville, Kristin has promised to be there for Jana.
But that has not stopped Jana from feeling extremely torn. She continued: “I’m gonna be destroyed. That’s [co-parenting] not what I wanted…That’s not what I fought for. And it’s not f–king fair. And that makes me so angry. I worked too damn hard for it to end this way.” There are going to be plenty more struggles in the road ahead.
