‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ fans are growing more disgusted by the day as the level of Erika Jayne and her soon to be ex-husband, Tom Girardi’s deception.
In a very interestingly timed divorce, Jayne is claiming she knew nothing about Girardi’s shady bookkeeping which has swindled clients out of the payouts that Girardi’s firm had won on their behalf.
Joining families of victims of an airplane crash and the widow of a man who died in a boat crash– all claiming to have never received their payouts– is Joseph Ruigomez. Sustaining burns to 90% of his body, Ruigomez survived the horrific 2010 Pacific Gas & Electric pipeline explosion that levelled his community and killed 8people, including his fiancé.

Ruigomez’s suffering was immense, emotionally and physically, and he faces a lifetime of painful and expensive surgeries. It is because of this his family hired Girardi and his team to represent Ruigomez as he sued for damages.
Girardi and Ruigomez won with PG&E agreeing to pay an $11 million settlement, but the client never received a cent.
Girardi has since filed involuntary bankruptcy. His creditors have teamed up and a trustee has been appointed to take control of Girardi’s finances after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In turn, Ruigomez has filed a lawsuit.
Girardi’s Pasadena mansion is up for sale. Ideally money from the sale would go toward compensating all those on the receiving end of his shady dealings.
However, Jayne isn’t taking that lying down, scrambling to claim her share of the house sale profits. Hey, that glam squad isn’t going to pay itself. News flash, Erika, skin grafts aren’t going to either!
Housewives fans are dubious to both the timing of Jayne filing for divorce–the “he’s my world” crumbled awfully quickly and directly to divorce–as well her claims that she ws clueless about how Girardi ran his business.
Even harder to swallow is the fact that Jayne has been on the Board of Directors at Girardi Financial since 1999. Cynics are even doubting Girardi’s claim to having Alzheimer’s, finding it convenient he can hide behind a mask of dementia now that he is in serious trouble.
Honestly, the Alzheimer’s claim does make sense, it is likely why the cooking of the books came to the forefront. That kind of shadiness takes intense management.
If he is sick, it makes Jayne divorcing her elderly husband even grosser. I guess in sickness and in health doesn’t mean much to Erika Jayne, especially when it is the bank balance that will look real sick, real soon.
