Kennedy Burquest, who happens to be the daughter of former Survivor contestant Sunday Burquest, has been left devastated by her mother’s death from cancer.
Kennedy Burquest Left Devastated Following Her Mother’s Tragic Death From Cancer
Sunday’s cancer battle dominated the latter stages of her life. She had initially contracted breast cancer, which she had managed to overcome. When things seemed to be looking brighter, she was tragically diagnosed with cancer once again. This time, though, it was esophageal and ovarian cancer. The news has left her family, in particular her daughter in mourning.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, we can see a picture of Kennedy next to her mum as she is holding her as a child. The post was captioned by the following comments: “To my unbelievably beautiful mama, Thank you. Thank you for fighting as hard as you did for as long as you did. Thank you for being a best friend, a role model, a sister, and my mother all in one.
“Thank you for raising me to love Jesus, and show that love to others. That’s something you did so well.” Kennedy has been left behind to pick up the pieces, alongside her three brothers. Given that she has reached adulthood, there were so many things in the pipeline that she wanted to share and do with her mother. Sadly, time has taken that away from her leaving many regrets.
She added: “It breaks my heart to know you will never get to see me on my wedding day or be there when I have my first kid. But I know you’re watching over me. Although it hurts me so bad to watch you go, I’m so happy you are happy again.” What was more difficult was that Sunday had every hope of beating this cancer. She had already done it once, so why would it be different this time around.
She was very vocal in the past with her fans over her battle, and although she has passed away, she will always be remembered as a fighter. Let us hope that the family can recover from this, and rest assured, the fans will be there for them through it all.
