She’s done it before and yes, she showed the world that she could do it again. Kate Middleton played the peacemaker role between feuding brothers Prince William and Prince Harry on Saturday.
William and Harry managed to engage in a small chat while walking together, with Kate Middleton in the middle. Apparently, it’s the Duchess of Cambridge who knows how to calm her husband and Harry’s rupture the most in the family. Here’s what you need to know.
Reports say that the ice is thawing between William and Harry, thanks to Kate Middleton. She’s been called the “family peacemaker” — was the first to engage the isolated Harry in conversation after Saturday’s low-key funeral for their grandfather Prince Philip over the weekend.
Kate Middleton Was The Peacemaker Between Prince William And Prince Harry
Apparently, she launched an animated chat with her brother-in-law as the royals emerged from the church.
Eyewitnesses say Harry seemed to visibly relax as she spoke — and then William joined them. Kate then pulled away from them, allowing William and Harry to stroll side by side.
Unfortunately though, the brothers were separated by their cousin Peter Phillips as they marched in the procession behind their grandfather’s casket, and were seated far apart during the funeral service.
This, of course, doesn’t surprise anyone seeing how there was a recent report that suggested Kate Middleton isn’t a narcissist, unlike her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently learned her lessons from Princess Diana and has done a better job of applying them to her royal life.
In an interview with The Times of London, royal expert Penny Junor suggests Kate Middleton is much more effective in getting her message across, even though she doesn’t say as much as someone like Meghan Markle does.
While Kate is no stranger to acts of compassion, her low-key approach to getting her work done might be more effective than that of Meghan’s, says Junor.
“When Harry and Meghan talked to Oprah, they were more concerned about their own welfare; it was all about them and that’s been their narrative all along,” says Penny Junor. “But there’s a difference between service and self-service. I feel real service is doing things selflessly for others. I think that’s what Kate understands.”
