Trisha Yearwood has spoken on the challenges that she has faced in her marriage to Garth Brooks.

Trisha Yearwood Opens Up On The Difficulties In Her Marriage

The couple have been together for an age. They tied the knot in 2005 and brought with them some baggage from their previous marriages. Garth had three kids from his first relationship, while Trisha had to get over her divorce to Robert Reynolds in a marriage that had spanned five years. While the couple are successful in their own right, it seems that has worked against them at times.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Trisha revealed how their independence has caused problems. She said: “We’re both very independent people who run our own ships. And sometimes when two people are driving two big ships, it can be difficult.” Trisha is a successful businesswoman who is all too aware of the difficulties of the corporate world.

Equally, Garth is familiar with extreme pressures given that he has been in the music industry for over a decade. As with anything, time has allowed them to grow and understand each other better. She added: “I was always the person in relationships…[who] was really happy to just bail. I was good at that. So in this situation, that’s not an option because this is the love of my life, you know? So you sit down, and you talk it through.”

The pandemic, in part, was a critical process in them ironing out their differences. Trisha admitted to spending a lot of time with Garth, regardless, the pandemic forced them to find a balance between respecting themselves and each other’s values. She continued: “I think it was kind of navigating; how do we stay alphas, stay independent, do our own thing, feel like we run our own lives, but be a couple. It’s a balance.”

With that, Trisha could not be happier in her life. She is currently focused on a new pet business to ensure that animals are treated well. The lockdown has led to a surge in demand for pets, and that is where Trisha is looking to support a cause close to her heart, as well as cashing in.
