If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Mickey Mouse’s two U.S. houses during the Covid-19 pandemic, is that one operates much differently than the other. While Disneyland in California is yet to open its doors to guests after being closed for more than a year, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida has been open since last summer without any major incidents.

And while there is some talk suggesting vaccine passports might be needed in order to travel in the near future, Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis is doing everything he can to make sure it doesn’t happen in his state. Here’s what you need to know.

Will You Need A Passport Vaccine To Visit Walt Disney World? Here’s What You Need To Know

DeSantis said this week that he would issue an executive order forbidding local governments and businesses from requiring so-called “vaccine passports” to show proof that customers have been inoculated against the coronavirus.

The passport would come as a scannable code that users could easily bring up on their smartphone. Printable paper copies would also be available to those without that technology.

The passports could be used to get people onto airplanes, into large concert venues and even to allow people back to work

In addition, the governor said it is “completely unacceptable” for the government or a private sector to implement a “vaccine passport” for movies, sporting events, and theme parks.

He said he will be taking an emergency, executive action later this week to effectively ban “vaccine passports” in the state.

In addition, the World Health Organization said in a press release just last month that these sorts of passports should not be used for international travel.

So far major theme parks like Walt Disney World have made no comments on whether or not they will require guests to show their vaccine passports upon entry. We will update you with all of the latest details as they come in.
