Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints has announced his retirement! Brees has had one of the most prolific careers in NFL History and shared a video on Instagram that he will be retiring to be a dad, thanks to his kids!
“After 20 years as a player in the NFL and 15 years as a Saint, it is time I retire from the game of football. Each day, I poured my heart & soul into being your Quarterback. Til the very end, I exhausted myself to give everything I had to the Saints organization, my team, and the great city of New Orleans. We shared some amazing moments together, many of which are emblazoned in our hearts and minds and will forever be a part of us. You have molded me, strengthened me, inspired me, and given me a lifetime of memories. My goal for the last 15 years was striving to give to you everything you had given to me and more.
I am only retiring from playing football, I am not retiring from New Orleans. This is not goodbye, rather a new beginning. Now my real life‘s work begins!”

It was a beautiful video with his children and happy for them to have their dad home full time, though as a football fan, I’ll miss Brees! So will a lot of other NFL players, like Tom Brady, “So happy for you and your family! Was a pleasure competing against you!!!”
Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks chimed in, “An amazing career Drew. Legend. Grateful for all you did for the game.” as well as former teammate Benjamin Watson, “Love you brother. What an honor to do life and football with you and your family. You made me a better player, husband, father and citizen. Congratulations. Thank you for your servant leadership. Truly one of a kind.”
Congratulations to Drew Brees and his family on his retirement. He’s left behind a legacy that will last for generations to come.
