Amanza Smith has shockingly confirmed that she still needs to acquire custody through the legal system so that her kids can enter therapy despite her husband, Ralph Brown, disappearing.
Amanza Smith Faces A Tough Battle To Get Custody Over Her Kids
In an interview with Us Weekly, Amanza highlighted how bizarre it all sounded. She said: “I have a therapist, and then I get information from her to help them. A licensed therapist cannot legally help them without [their dad’s] signature. So I talk to someone, and then she gives me tips and pointers.” But the strange occurrences, including her kids having their dad absent, have not impacted the children in a negative way as they continue to excel.
She added: “[My kids] could be flunking out of school, cursing, acting out and not doing chores, with Brown missing. They’re not doing any of that. They’re the most well-behaved, well-mannered [kids]. They’re so compassionate and so kind. They’re thriving in school and they’re social, but as a mother and an adult, I see what the effects are.”
She has not seen Ralph since 2019, and that has left her with many unanswered questions: “My ex-husband and I have been divorced since my kids were 1 and 2. So, for the past seven years, they have spent a week with Daddy and a week with Mommy. And Daddy’s a great dad. He’s very present, but over the past couple of months, stuff has really hit the fan, and he’s basically just off the grid.
“And we don’t really know what’s going on. I just don’t have answers for them.” Amanza, though, still feels guilty in spite of her great efforts to raise the kids as a single mother. This has not, however, been helped by the pandemic. She continued: “I’m so busy. We’re home together all the time [amid the coronavirus pandemic], but I’m not getting that quality time.
“I just have so much going on. I believe if we don’t have some mom guilt, then maybe we’re not doing it right.” So how have the kids taken to their mother working so hard? Well, she revealed they are unaware as to the circumstances surrounding the difficulties, but she vowed to tell them once they reach a tender age: “They’re gonna know one day when they’re older. They’ll appreciate it. Like, I have to work. I have to wait until they realize and can fully grasp exactly what Mom is doing.”
