‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers tells that Micah is not being allowed to hang out with Isaac without Barry being there to supervise. Micah and Isaac are hanging out as dudebros at what looks to be a lake (or perhaps a swamp, looked swampy to me), and Micah said in his confessional (this is coming up next week) that it wasn’t like he was about to show his younger brother porn or anything, so what on earth is Barry actually afraid of? What trouble could they possibly get into hanging out at a swamp?
I would hate to know that my parents didn’t trust me that much, that they had to be breathing down my neck and monitoring everything that went on between my younger siblings and I because they were so afraid that I was going to say something to my younger siblings that might make them consider thinking about the world just a little bit differently, and honestly, I think that’s what it all boils down to.

Because Micah has embraced the world and gone out and done modeling instead of staying down home on the farm and has broadened his horizons, Barry is so afraid that he’s going to ‘enlighten’ Isaac and another one will leave the nest eventually.
The thing is, what Barry doesn’t know is that Isaac has already said that he doesn’t necessarily have to embrace his parents way of life and that when he comes of age he’s going to be making his own decisions about the world and not just going along with everything they say.

Isn’t that what all kids do when they grow to be adults, they evaluate the world for themselves and they pick and choose what they want from how they were raised and leave the rest? That’s how I always got it, apparently that’s not the way it’s supposed to go in Plathville, in Plathville everyone is supposed to embrace the parents way of life until the day they die and no one is to ever question anything because that is… evil? Ungodly?
What do they actually believe here? I don’t get it! I was homeschooled and I don’t get it, but, perhaps that’s just a credit to my own Mom. Either way, let’s see what Barry’s afraid of next week. Stay tuned!!!
