Something that started in last week’s episode that extended to this week’s episode of Darcey and Stacey was Florian Sukaj’s reluctance to talk to Stacey’s friends. In fact it was almost a replay of the whole Andrei Castravet/Elizabeth Potthast/Moldova situation but in an entirely different setting.
Florian got why Stacey’s Dad was interrogating him and he took it like a champ because he said that he was of the same belief and no doubt, if he and Stacey had a daughter together he would be just as protective of their little girl as Mr. Silva is of his girls. However, what he didn’t get and certainly didn’t appreciate was the fact that her friends felt the need to interrogate him.
Darcey And Stacey Silva: Florian doesn’t like Stacey’s friends
Now, I took the questioning for what it was, they just wanted to know more about Florian and were curious about his intentions toward their friend. It’s common for friends to do that in the US. However, wherever Florian is from, it’s not that common and it certainly didn’t translate very well.
Stacey told her friends that it was because he just wasn’t used to strong women talking to him that way before and he took it the wrong way. Afterwards, he had to go and take a smoke break to calm his nerves, leaving Stacey to pick up the pieces. Geeze, he certainly can’t handle pressure well, can he?
Florian is what is considered a ‘hot guy’ and obviously in his country he’s not used to talking to any kind of woman except a woman that he wants to get with. That would explain why he’s not familiar with women addressing him in such a way.
If he were familiar with women and just being friends with them then he would know that often, this is just how a woman gets to know a man who she is not remotely interested in and who is dating their friend.
But Florian is just used to having girls fawn over him and be impressed by him, that’s what he didn’t like about this little confrontation. If you can even call it a confrontation, it looked like he just got flustered and walked out.
Seriously though, he needs to relax and get used to it. This is American culture and this is a country where we are taught that, as other women, we should have each other’s backs. That’s all that her friends were doing. Obviously, things are different in other cultures but he’s in this one now.
Not to be that person, but… get used to it buddy. If he’s going to marry Stacey (and it looks like he has!) then he needs to get used to American Culture because this is not 90 days the other way. Stay tuned!!!
