Was anyone cringing when Kobe Blaise almost broke down and spilled the beans to his Father-in-Law, Emily Beiberly’s Dad? Just me? David gave Kobe a gift that was significant to him and basically signified that Kobe was the man of the house now and could take care of things, namely Emily and little Koban, but when this happened Kobe almost ruined the entire wedding by breaking down and confessing to him that Emily was pregnant.
Here’s where cultures sort of clash, because in American culture that kind of thing is viewed slightly differently. It’s viewed as there’s a “time and a place” for it. However…

We’re not too sure about the culture in Cameroon, but the way Kobe was acting we can kind of guess that while it may have been just as big of a deal in his culture, the initial reaction would have been different and perhaps that is why he wanted so badly to tell David that he had gotten Emily pregnant. Well, that, and he felt like he was lying to his Father-in-Law, at least he felt bad about it, still.
Thankfully, he had enough of a conscience to consider Emily’s feelings in the matter and didn’t tell anyone without her consent. He learned his lesson from when he had told Temperature that he had gotten her pregnant, and probably didn’t want her to walk out on the wedding, or worse, have her Dad pull the plug.
But would her Dad have really done that, though? Thankfully we never had to find out, but everyone seemed to be under the impression that her Dad was going to throw some huge fit if he had discovered she was pregnant.
It came down to two days after the wedding and that’s when they broke and confessed everything, but it wasn’t David who gave the ultimatum, it was Emily’s Mom, Lisa, who gave the ultimatum that soon they were going to have to move out. So it makes one wonder if it was all David’s idea to tell Emily not to get pregnant or if he was giving the order that the Mom had given him privately. Every head of household has a neck, you see.
