TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ spoilers finds that we should talk about how Sumit invited a cow to his housewarming party for Jenny Slatten. I’m not even kidding. He had someone bring a real live cow to his and Jenny’s new house in order to bless the house. He says that it’s sort of like how some people burn sage, or, my Grandparents trick, planting garlic outside the home to ‘keep away the heebie jeebies’. Of course, Sumit went into great detail about what the cow’s visit to the home signified but one thing that I distinctly remember is that he said that the cow allows for you to ‘give away your debts’. I’m going to assume that he meant ‘cancel your debts’. (Honestly if bringing a cow into my house allows me to cancel my debts, sign me up!)
Poor Jenny Slatten was obviously more acquainted with the barnyard variety of cow than this well-behaved, absolutely gorgeous Brahma cow. I will give them props, the cow was so beautiful and well-behaved. Jenny was scared she was going to let things fly in the middle of her floor like she did on the terrace but surprisingly, this cow was the exact opposite of the phrase “bull in a china shop” and was very chill and relax, it was almost like she had lived there all her life. They respected Jenny’s wishes not to have the cow inside the house but I honestly think the animal wouldn’t have made a mess of things even if they hadn’t.
TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ Spoilers – India’s interesting housewarming culture!
There was also the fact that they lit a fire in her house which… okay have to be honest that was a tradition I wasn’t too sure about because of safety. I have no idea about fire codes in india and while it honestly just looked like your average run of the mill campfire-sized marshmallow roast, I could see where Jenny would be a little freaked out over it. But she got through it like a champ, so you have to give her props for at least trying to embrace the new culture. However, I’m not sure how this living arrangement is going to work out and it has nothing to do with culture at all.
Where Jenny and Sumit are currently living in India has a high crime rate, Sumit said out of his own mouth that he’s seen a man kill another man over $10. That’s downright scary. I hope that Jenny has some form of self-defense that’s legal in India because I’m not sure of the police culture in that country. Jenny has the right to be, at the very least, apprehensive about her move. They don’t have security at their place, just a gate. She said she felt safer at their apartment because there was a security guard but now there isn’t. Yike. We honestly wish Jenny the best of luck in her move to India.
