Paul Staehle claims, in spite of his family’s anxieties, that he never went missing in the Amazon. He attributes this to some bad phone coverage and a snag on a river.
He’s been living alone in Manaus, Brazil, and lately decided to go out on a boat with a fan of the reality program in an effort to unwind. However, this choice had unintended consequences.
They were traveling to a floating home in the Amazon, according to Paul, but the boat experienced some mechanical difficulties along the route, leaving him briefly alone.
According to Paul, he became anxious and began asking for assistance from others, but his friend was finally able to restore the boat, so they continued on their adventure.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Paul Staehle NEVER Missing In Brazil? Claims Phone Problems
Paul claims that once they arrived to the floating home, there was limited mobile connection and he didn’t have a phone charger, which made it difficult for him to contact his family in the United States.
After an unsettling text conversation with her son, Paul’s mother believed he was lost in Brazil. His wife Karine then posted some mysterious messages on social media to inform Brazilians of his whereabouts.
Paul denies that this was all a public relations gimmick and that his family was simply terrified when they couldn’t reach him. He claims he didn’t want the information to spread and was taken aback by his mother’s outrage as well as the subsequent media flurry.
History, of course, is not on Paul’s side; he and his kid were included in a Kentucky police alert for missing persons last year before they were finally found, and it’s likely that this influenced how his family responded.
This definitely feels like a ploy, and especially following the drama circulating Josh Seiter and his ‘alleged death’ on social media that was later called a hoax and claimed someone had ‘hacked’ his account.
