90 Day Fiancé Star Ben Rathbun Was Arrested Again?!
Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days starred the infamous Ben and Mahogany couple that contained lots of juicy drama around catfishing, scams, and lies. Despite this, the couple still married on a beautiful beachfront to the shock of lots of skeptical fans.
However, troubles have only continued for the married couple ranging from severe financial issues to now Ben’s sudden arrest!
On November 25th, 90 Day Fiancé follower Shabooty posted on Instagram some damning evidence about Ben not just being arrested on the 22nd, but for the reason of failing to pay child support to his ex-wife.
The ex-wife in question is Lisa who we had met in Ben’s first appearance on the show and was deeply skeptical of his relationship with Mahogany. This was both on whether Mahoghany was even real and his now broken promise not to rush into a foreign relationship again for their four children’s sake.
This would also be Ben’s second arrest since his probation violation in accordance with an OUI charge back in 2022. Now Ben is said to have been released on November 26th.
How Were Ben & Mahogany’s Relationship Before This?
While we don’t really know how Ben and Mahoghany’s relationship has or will be affected by this shocking event just yet, there were a couple of foreshadowing hints as to how this arrest could’ve happened. On the spinoff show 90 Day Diaries, one point about the couple’s relationship was made extremely clear. They were severely struggling with money.
After his last visit to Peru, moving from Michigan to North Carolina, and living 6 months without a stable job at the time of recording, Ben spoke on how “things have been extremely tight right now” when it comes to paying his bills and preparing his next visit to Peru.
This also includes potential plans to bring Mahogany to the United States. In their Diary episode, Ben records himself taking a blood draw in order to sell it for some extra needed funds for the couple.
Since the 90 Day Diaries episode, 90 Day hasn’t reached out much to the couple for future appearances. It is unknown whether couples are paid for their episodes on 90 Day Diairies and the uninterest in recording Ben and Mahogany definitely doesn’t help support their finances.
However, there is still the chance that 90 Day could change their minds and invite the couple back for another spinoff in the future. Many fans though speculate that the lack of funds emphasized is what ultimately resulted in Ben’s failed child support payments and arrest.
While not much else is known about the couple, there were also other difficult events that they have had to work through before. One of the biggest ones would be Mahoghany’s alleged overdose on sleeping medication. According to an Instagram story posted by Mahoghany herself, she wrote:
Thankfully Mahogany was able to survive and receive medical attention quickly thanks to Ben’s help. While the couple has been run through the wringer of controversies, rumors, and emergencies, they have still managed to shock the world by remaining together through it all.
