We recognize that this could have been an off-hand comment whose translation didn’t go over too well. However, Natalie was quite offended by it and if Trish had thought anything of the girl she could have picked up on that, the laughter in the kitchen was forced and uncomfortable and incredibly fake, she said that she didn’t really know what to expect next from Trish and it was clear that she was uncomfortable.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Read the room, Trish!
But Trish didn’t even bother thinking about that before she plowed forward with the questions about granchildren! Did she honestly think that Natalie was going to even want to answer that question after she had called her a hooker?
She said she felt disgusting after Trish said what she said to her and that she was literally just putting on a good face for the dinner. (You can thank all that acting experience that you continually make fun of, Trish, that you were not humiliated in your own home.)
Speaking of not reading the room, Mike wanted Natalie to confront his Mom and ask her what she meant by that but honestly, Natalie was the bigger person by not starting a huge fight in the middle of their dinner – even though she was completely entitled to do it.
She was cordial to Trish’s roommate, Ron, and Ron was nice as well. He even said that the tension between Trish and Natalie could be cut with a knife and it made the entire dinner kind of awkward. Mike should have taken the helm here and talked to his Mom throughout dinner.
He tried, but he just kept yammering on about how he couldn’t wait to have kids. Trish also shouldn’t have speculated on Natalie’s fertility in front of a complete stranger, that was insensitive.
Natalie took it in stride though and said that in the US both parents have to work and that she didn’t want her child to suffer and as a single Mom Trish should know this. Excellent burn, Natalie. Trish didn’t like it though and there was a moment of dangerous silence when she asked, “Oh, you’re yankin’ my chain?” after she asked Natalie to pass the gravy around the table.
It was clear that Trish was implying some sort of euphemism about being “passed around” but some editing got in the way. Ahem. I think this will be the first and only Thanksgiving dinner with Mike and Natalie. Stay tuned!!!
