90 Day Fiancé couple, Devin Hoofman and Nick Ham are quite interesting. They have been getting a lot of attention because of the way that they treat one another and their pet names. Now that they are in Arkansas with her family, things have gotten serious.
Nick plans to marry Devin and move in with her and her parents since that is where she is living right now. Nick doesn’t quite understand English and their Southern accents are a little much for him right now. Even though Devin’s family is trying their best to make a good impression on Nick, he doesn’t seem to get their humor, lifestyle, or culture.
During the newest episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Nick is given wonderful treatment by Devin’s parents and they cook southern fish and chips for him. That is when they begin to ask him what he thinks of Americans. Let’s find out how he reacted.
90 Day Fiancé Spoilers: Nick’s Opinions About Americans and Devin
When Devin’s parents ask Nick about how Koreans view Americans, he tells them, “Greasy food and being fat.” Then he laughs. Of course, her parents do not think that this is funny at all. He then tells them, “I don’t think that way. People in Korea think that way. No offense.” Devin felt like she needed to further explain his thoughts to her family. She told Nick that there is a huge price difference in America between “unhealthy” and “healthy” foods.
Devin also pointed out to him that the American lifestyle is much easier just to “drive-thru” rather than to cook for an entire family. That is when Nick tells her, “You’re lazy, so you always get fast food for lunch. No wonder you’re a piggy.”
90 Day Fiancé Spoilers: Devin’s Parents Shocked
As soon as Devin’s parents heard him say that their daughter was a ‘piggy’, they asked Nick, “Are you serious?” He went over and just reached for her stomach and said, “I’m just telling the truth. You always have fast food for lunch.”
After hearing the way that Nick talks about Devin, her father is quick to share his thoughts about how she is being treated by the man that she loves. He told the cameras, “Him calling her piggy concerns me, even though Devin acts as if it doesn’t bother her. I don’t want her deep down inside to be bothered by that.” Devin just wanted Nick to say wonderful things about her, but she was very thrown off by the fact that he made fun of her weight.
Devin added, “The piggy nickname is something that has been a very long, ongoing battle that I’ve very much given up on.”
Devin and Nick seem to have a pretty odd relationship, but you can keep an eye on them on the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé. It airs on TLC on Sundays at 8 p.m. EST.
