’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers indicate that Deavan and Jihoon’s wedding finally happened. Deavan would have wanted it differently, but Jihoon’s parents put together the ceremony in the most western way they knew how. They got a wedding venue where everything is done within an hour, and you just get married.
Apparently, in Korea, big western ceremonies like the ones we have in the US where people sometimes take an entire weekend and have a huge celebration are practically unheard of. Instead they have westernized versions of Korean weddings where everything is built to look western, but in actuality is done in a very, very Korean fashion.

Yup, you heard me, instead of booking the venue for an entire day, or at least for two hours, they have only one hour in which to say the vows, cut the cake, and get everything over and done with before another bride comes in to experience the McHappiest Day of her life. (Allegedly, I’m pretty sure there have been some other miserable brides at this venue.)
Deavan had her doubts about this whole thing, because she imagined her wedding going differently. She imagined her wedding much more traditionally American, but I guess in this instance, she’ll take what she can get.
What was funny was the fact that everyone’s hair and makeup gets done for the wedding, including the men! When these Korean wedding studios say they’re preparing for a photo op they certainly don’t scrimp on the looks portion! Everyone looked like a million bucks, from Deavan, to Jihoon, even the parents and the children were all suited up and photo-op ready for this wedding.
Little Drasilla’s dress was especially gorgeous, it looked like a big pink butterfly in the back. Man, little toddler me would have loved that dress when I was a kid. (Heck, adult me wants an adult version of it, come on!) It was adorable watching Drasilla watch her Mama get ready to walk down the aisle.
Elicia and Jihoon’s Mom were wearing traditional Korean mother of the bride garb, which was interesting, considering Elicia’s coloring. Then it came time to walk down the aisle, it looked more like a runway show than a wedding to be honest, the officiant announced everyone like an emcee at a concert, only with slightly less energy.
Jihoon said that Deavan looked like an angel from heaven walking down the aisle, which was a really sweet sentiment, even though we already know how this story ends. Although I felt sorry for Deavan, apparently no one thought to hire a translator for her and she had to rely on Jihoon to tell her when to say yes.
I guess they forgot to pack the little pocket translator that day. (You have to admit, it would have been funny to hear it mess up what the officiant said.)
Jihoon’s parents were mystified by the dancing and said it wasn’t too fun but it was interesting to watch. Deavan was swooning a little as Jihoon danced with Drasilla and Elicia said she actually felt good about Jihoon. It’s sad to think about how this story actually went down, but sometimes love just isn’t enough. Stay tuned!!!
