Ashley Martson, the star of 90 Day Fiancé, has officially divorced Jay Smith, and by the sounds of it, it was a long-time coming.

In an interview on Us Weekly, Ashley stated how she had no regrets and was looking forward to putting it all to bed. She said: “I’m just happy and feel free. It took a long time to get him to sign. This is a celebration. No sadness over here.” The couple had long-standing problems right from the outset. Their relationship had moved at such a quick pace. They got married, only for Ashley to file for divorce eight months after.
During this time, Jay had gotten arrested, after which the couple tried to patch things up. Realising that nothing more could be done, Ashley felt she had to act. But it seems Jay was reluctant to sign the papers. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Ashley revealed how free she felt: “If you’re noticing I look happier and a little bit lighter, it could be the lipo, or it could be that I have a ton of baggage off my shoulders.
“This death sentence of a marriage is officially over. Just waiting on the decree! This bitch is single and ready to mingle. Boy is this divorce party gonna be fun!” Jay, for his part, failed to honour his previous commitments of making things work. Following his arrest, he vowed to change and overcome the hurdles that had been getting in Ashley’s way. And yet, in hindsight, it all looked to be empty words.
In a previous video posted on their Youtube, Jay stated: “Obviously, the No. 1 question everybody wants to know is ‘Are we back together? Definitely, we are back together. Stronger than ever. This time it’s not going to go like last time. We’re going to stay together.” Given how things have transpired, Jay will want to address his side of the story. He has yet to comment on the divorce, but clearly, he will want to paint his name in a good light.
