’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers reveal that was an eye opening experience. First off, they had to get up when it was still dark outside to start the ceremony, which began at 6:30AM. Most churches in the states don’t even open on a Sunday until like 9AM. (Well, okay, obviously the pastor is there earlier, but still!)

Ariela was apprehensive the entire time because as per usual, Bini didn’t try to talk her through any of what was going to happen when little Aviel was baptized, so she was noticeably uncomfortable during most of the event. Especially when the priest (are they priests?) rubbed a bible in her face during one of the ceremonial prayers.

She also didn’t get why poor little Aviel needed to be completely unclothed for his baptism. (Honestly, I didn’t really get that either, but I come from a religion where a sprinkling on the forehead works just fine for us, so.) Poor little Aviel protested loudly when they put him in the baptismal pool as well.

Looking every bit like Grandpa Weinberg as he screamed in protest, one almost has to wonder what little Avi would have said if he could have been able to articulate what he wanted. He certainly didn’t seem to like the whole baptism process, but didn’t mind the oil that they put on him later.

Then again, the oil wasn’t a process that required him being naked, babies are sensitive to temperature, I wonder how cold it was in the church and what temperature the water was?

Afterwards, when the actual Baptism was done, that’s when things got a little more comfortable for both Aviel and Ariela. Biniyam’s family trilled and celebrated loudly, all of his sisters and aunts were so happy. That’s the part that Ariela really appreciated and the part that made her happy that she had let Biniyam baptize his son.

Even if the actual baptismal ceremony made her uncomfortable, Ariela was glad that she made the decision to do so in the end. In spite of her initial misgivings, I’m glad that Ari doesn’t have any regrets, and that she didn’t hike little Avi up under her arm like a football during the ceremony and run, although that was a legit fear from Biniyam.
