’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers reveal that Amira, Amira’s Dad, and TLC that Andrew was the villain when it came to the whole ‘being detained in Mexico’ situation for Amira. However there’s some new information coming to light via instagram that may point to a completely different story.
It is alleged that Andrew was given a bad edit by TLC and that he wasn’t as much of the bad guy as he was initially made out to be. According to sources, Amira was the one who originally put forth the idea of even going on 90 day fiancé, because she wanted to grow her online following as an influencer.

That’s why she’s not interested in getting a job, she actually just wants to be an influencer and have that be her career, while that’s not wrong it’s sort of questionable that she would use 90 day fiancé as a platform to do so.
These sources also say that instead of the story that we are being fed by the show, it was actually Amira’s idea to go to Mexico first, she was the one that had joined the online forum in an attempted to get around the COVID guidelines being enforced by countries and asked other people about their experiences.
A few of them recommended quarantining in Mexico first and then going to the US. The big deal about Amira’s stay was that she was supposed to purchase a round trip ticket, to indicate to the Mexican authorities that she was going to return to France, however she only purchased a one-way ticket and thought that they wouldn’t take it that seriously. They did.
When it comes to being detained, that part of the story is true, she was detained in Mexico City by authorities. However, when she was offered her one phone call, instead of calling Andrew or even her Father, Amira chose to call the TLC producers instead.
TLC producers waited 24 hours to inform Andrew. As soon as Andrew found out he contacted both the French Embassy and the Mexican Federal Police to try and help Amira. When Amira did finally get in contact with Andrew, she was the one that encouraged him to stay at the resort and texted him with a message telling him to send her pics.
