’90 Day Fiancé: The Single Life’ Spoilers reveal that Fernanda Flores recently had a conversation with her therapist about her failed marriage and about how angry she was over it, which turned into a conversation about her abandonment issues, which all stems from the fact that when she was a child, her Dad abandoned her and her Mom, and her paternal Grandparents had to step in and raise her as their own child. (Again, no mention of what happened to Fernanda’s Mom, just that she was abandoned by her Dad.) So this week came the confrontation about what went on when Fernanda was a child.
Unlike some Dads, he didn’t get defensive and didn’t get angry at her for feeling the way she felt. He openly admitted that he made mistakes when she was a baby. He said that he was 17, and not in his home country, and that led to him getting scared and abandoning her Mom.

Of course he was also quick to say that he just wanted his freedom, and that’s probably due to him just being 17 at the time. Poor Fernanda broke down in tears, saying that she had searched for years, within herself, to find what was wrong with her and why he would abandon her and not stick around. Her Dad didn’t really seem all that shocked by that news, but the good thing is, he did seem apologetic.
He also offered to be there for Fernanda, which, if he holds true to his promise will be valuable for her because right now, Fernanda needs her Dad. She’s just 22, so when she got married she was barely an adult. Clearly, she still needs parental guidance in her life. You never get too old for that.
Although, I will say that Fernanda’s Dad doesn’t really seem to be the ‘wise’ type, so I’m not sure what his guidance will do for her or her dating life, he doesn’t seem like a Dad who has much of any of the answers, so we’ll see how he tries to relate to Fernanda in the future. He’s apologetic now, but if I were Fernanda, I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high. Stay tuned!!!
