90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Statler Riley just responded to the rumors of Dempsey Wilkinson stealing the white van Statler took a loan for. Statler and Dempsey struggled to fund their future van life together.
Statler repeatedly felt that Dempsey was not pulling her weight regarding their plans. After a cheating scandal was revealed on Tell All, the couple broke up. Statler is now running a podcast “exposing” 90 Day Fiancé behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, Dempsey is minding her own life posting what fans noticed to be the same van Statler bought. Dempsey recently posted about trips to Scotland in the same van that Statler allegedly paid the majority for.
This caused her followers to question Dempsey’s original intentions in her relationship. In fact, now Statler herself has taken notice of the news and aims to stoke the fire of drama further.
90 Day Fiancé: Statler’s Response to Dempsey Using the Van
Statler responds negatively to Dempsey‘s posting about their white van. In a story on January 17th, 2025, Statler says, “Multiple ppl & now my friends have reached out to me about Dempsey posting about the fan. It is still mostly mine as she has not paid me the $19,000+ she owes me…”
Statler goes on to say that Dempsey hasn’t returned anything that she owns. “I gave up so much to live out her dream…”
Statler goes on to make further claims about Dempsey and her mental state. “I understand now (from therapy) that her brain is that a textbook psychopath…”
She states that Dempsey is living delusionally in her own world and is still trying to heal. “All I can do is hope that she grows in some way from the experience we shared…”
90 Day Fiancé: Statler’s Past Van Troubles with Dempsey
Since their breakup, Statler has been very open about almost every issue she and Dempsey had. This not only included how she felt while with Dempsey but in how they handled the van finances.
While on the show, Statler felt that she was doing most of the work. Despite both claiming that they wanted a van life, Statler felt used in their relationship to give that to Dempsey.
In a screenshot posted on October 30th, 2024, Statler shows how much Dempsey owed her to buy the van. In the messages, Dempsey claims to owe Statler about £1,500 to help with the loan Statler took out.
However, Statler was unhappy with this answer responding, “Why that low? I’ve put money into it just like you.” Now in Statler’s recent story, she makes it clear that this debt was never paid and that it was actually higher.
90 Day Fiancé: Our Thoughts on Statler Vs. Dempsey on the Van
Since the breakup, Statler has been fixated on making Dempsey look like the ultimate villain in their relationship. To go from elaborating on a situation about debts, to calling your ex a “textbook psychopath” is comical. It can make what Statler says as a whole seem shallow and should be taken with a grain of salt.
However, it’s worth noting how badly Dempsey wanted her dream van life. There was lots of focus and stress surrounding the van that ultimately tore the pair apart.
There’s still no concrete evidence of Dempsey never paying Statler back. Dempsey keeping the vehicle in the end though makes sense considering her deep-rooted passion for travel she expressed on the show.
