Nicole Sherbiny and Mahmoud El Sherbiny have faced an onslaught of divorce rumors since the beginning of 2024. The rumors only escalated following Mahmoud’s February arrest for domestic violence.
Now, the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, which aired on Sunday, April 28, Only adds fuel to the fire, with Mahmoud stating point-blank that he wants a divorce.
During the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Mahmoud seemed determined to return to Egypt despite telling cameras that he had “no plan.”
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After – Explosive Fight Between Nicole and Mahmoud Sparks Divorce Rumors
Mahmoud also called Nicole a “traitor” following an explosive argument at Nicole’s apartment. Mahmoud first moved to the United States to be with Nicole in May of 2023. The couple hoped that having Mahmoud move to the US would ease some of the tension in their relationship.
Nicole famously struggled with her move to Cairo during season four of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, which aired throughout 2023. The couple often clashed onscreen about cultural differences between Nicole, a free-spirited fashion reseller who lives in LA, and Mahmoud, a devout Muslim. The couple struggled to communicate effectively, with Mahmoud often believing that Nicole was ignoring his pleas for her to dress more modestly.
The argument featured in Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Seemed to be a breaking point for Nicole. She told the confessional, “I’m furious because for the last four years I’ve done nothing but try as hard as I can to make this work.”
Following the argument, Mahmoud left Nicole’s apartment. He proceeded to stay at a hotel without telling Nicole his location. A producer drove Mahmoud to the hotel. Mahmoud told the cameras, “Love is not enough for marriage.” He added, “I think it’s over.”
In addition to struggling with cultural differences between Egypt and America, Mahmoud also dislikes being on camera. Unlike most 90 Day Fiancé cast members, he does not have an active social media presence. He states that he hates reality TV in his Instagram bio.
When Mahmoud moved to LA, an additional financial strain was also placed upon the couple. In the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Nicole and Mahmoud are often shown arguing about finances. During their explosive fight on Sunday night’s episode, Mahmoud was also shown returning Nicole’s credit card to her.
In the aftermath of the fight, Nicole seemed insistent that the pair could work things out. Mahmoud, however, seemed far less certain about the viability of their already fraught relationship.
On April 12, Nicole posted a photo of her and Mahmoud in Cairo with the caption, “Love this guy” followed by a red heart emoji.
Similarly to the culture shock Nicole experienced when she moved to Cairo, Mahmoud also struggled to adjust to life in LA. He told a producer during Sunday night’s episode, “I’ve never felt so alone in my life.”
Nicole also expressed remorse for how she acted during the fight, stating, ““I really regret saying anything to him. When we got back, I should have just let the night be like a fun night for everybody. Instead, it turned into, like, drama. And I feel terrible about it.”
